1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or using Wordsy (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use the Service.

These terms create a legally binding agreement between you and Wordsy. You represent that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have parental or guardian consent to use this Service.

2. Description of Service

Wordsy is an online word-guessing game that uses semantic similarity algorithms to provide feedback on player guesses. The Service offers:

• Daily Challenge: A daily puzzle shared by all players with global leaderboard rankings
• Solo Quest: Practice mode with unlimited time for individual play
• Battle Arena: Real-time 1v1 competitive matches against other players
• Squad Up: Cooperative team mode for 2-4 players working together

The game uses GloVe (Global Vectors for Word Representation) word embeddings developed by Stanford NLP to calculate semantic similarity between words. Rankings are calculated based on cosine similarity in a high-dimensional vector space.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of the Service without liability.

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

You may use Wordsy as a guest with limited features, or create an account to access full functionality including multiplayer modes and persistent statistics. When creating an account:

• You must provide a unique username that is not already in use
• You must choose a secure password
• You confirm that the information provided is accurate
• You agree to update your information if it changes

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Keep your password secure and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Log out of your account at the end of each session on shared devices
• Take responsibility for all actions taken through your account

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.

3.3 Account Restrictions

You must not:

• Use offensive, vulgar, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate usernames
• Impersonate any person, entity, or Wordsy staff members
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate rankings or leaderboards
• Sell, trade, or transfer your account to another person
• Use an account that has been suspended or terminated

We reserve the right to refuse registration, or to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.

4. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

While using Wordsy, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and the following rules:

4.1 Acceptable Use

• Play fairly and respect other players
• Use the Service for its intended purpose of playing word games
• Report bugs, exploits, or inappropriate behavior to us
• Respect the intellectual property rights of Wordsy and others

4.2 Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• Cheat or exploit: Use bots, scripts, macros, or any automated tools to play the game or gain unfair advantages
• Disrupt service: Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or damage the Service or servers
• Hack or breach security: Access unauthorized areas, bypass security measures, or exploit vulnerabilities
• Scrape or harvest data: Use automated tools to collect data from the Service without permission
• Abuse systems: Manipulate leaderboards, stats, or matching systems through artificial means
• Harass others: Engage in harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior toward other players
• Submit malicious content: Attempt to upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Violate laws: Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Reverse engineer: Decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the game
• Create derivative works: Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Service without authorization

4.3 Consequences of Violations

Violation of these rules may result in:

• Warning or temporary suspension of your account
• Permanent termination of your account
• Removal from leaderboards and reset of statistics
• IP address ban from accessing the Service
• Legal action if your conduct violates applicable laws

Wordsy, including all content, features, functionality, design, code, graphics, user interface, and underlying technology, is owned by us and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes:

• Game mechanics, algorithms, and scoring systems
• User interface design and visual elements
• Source code and software architecture
• Documentation and help content

5.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and useWordsy for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense access to the Service
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission

5.3 Third-Party Content

The word embeddings used in Wordsy are derived from GloVe (Global Vectors for Word Representation) developed by Stanford NLP, which is made available under the Apache License 2.0. We acknowledge and respect the intellectual property rights of Stanford University in this work.

5.4 User Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Wordsy, you grant us an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free right to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback into the Service without compensation or attribution to you.

6. Advertising and Monetization

Wordsy is a free-to-play service supported by advertising. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Advertisements will be displayed during gameplay on various screens
• Ads are provided by Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners
• We do not control the content of third-party advertisements
• Clicking on ads may redirect you to external websites not operated by us
• Ad-blocking software may interfere with game functionality

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

We reserve the right to introduce additional monetization methods, including premium features, in-game purchases, or subscription options, in the future.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WORDSY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

This includes damages for:

• Loss of data or game progress
• Account suspension or termination
• Interruption of service or downtime
• Errors in game mechanics or scoring
• Interaction with other users
• Third-party conduct or content
• Security breaches or unauthorized access

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed $100 USD or the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature in your settings. Upon termination, your account data will be permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

11.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Wordsy immediately, with or without notice, for any reason including:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Extended period of account inactivity
• Technical or security reasons
• Discontinuation of the Service

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination of your account:

• Your right to access and use the Service immediately ceases
• Your game data and statistics may be permanently deleted
• You will no longer appear on leaderboards
• Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will:

• Provide a reasonable notice period before material changes take effect

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Mumbai, India.

Informal Resolution: Before filing a legal claim, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve any dispute informally. Most disputes can be resolved this way.

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Wordsy regarding the Service.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.

14.5 Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, network infrastructure failures, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.
